Chair Introduction: Peter Liu

Hello delegates, I am Peter Liu, and I am so proud and pleased to be one of your chairs in the Peacebuilding Commission at BMUN LXIX!

I am currently a sophomore at Berkeley majoring in Data Science and Political Economics, minoring in German. I was from Columbia, South Carolina before I came to Cal, and have taken part in Model UN for seven years till now. Currently, I am also one of the chair of General Assembly in Fudan University International Model United Nations. While it admittedly is my first time in a committee aimed specifically towards peacebuilding, I really hope this conference can expose me new possibilities in political innovation and creativity. I hope the same happens for you!

I love traveling a lot when I have spare time. I have traveled with my friends all across the wild west and the south from Atlanta to Cozumel, from LA to Yellowstone. The beautiful scenery of the Bay Area was also one of the most important factor that played part during my school selection.

I know 2020 has been a really rough time and everyone has experienced a lot of trouble regarding different issues. It's unfortunate that we cannot sit together in-person and debate our topics as a committee due to the pandemic. But I still expect we can work together through this hard time, and possibly, see you on campus some day! Come on by and I’ll buy you boba anytime!
